1990s to 2000: Early Encounters
- 1991-1992 Benson & Hedges Cup: In 1992, during the Benson & Hedges Cup, South Africa and Pakistan played their first international cricket match. After being banned for years due to apartheid, Proteas made a comeback in 1991. The competition, which is being played in Brisbane, is in its 22nd match. South Africa beat Shaheens by 20 runs using the D/L system. In 50 overs, South Africa amassed 211 runs. South Africa’s opening batsman, Andrew Hudson, got the Man of the Match award for his outstanding batting, which included a game-winning performance of 54 off 81.
- 1992-1993 Total International Series: Pakistan won their maiden match against South Africa in Durban, making it an unforgettable match. - 1994-1995 South Africa v Pakistan: The first test match between the two sides took place in Johannesburg in 1995. Pakistan flew to South Africa for the test match. In the first innings, Fanie De Villiers, Jonty Rhodes, and Gary Kirsten each struck half-centuries. To win, Gary Kirsten and Jacques Kallis must bat together for 61 runs.

- 2000-2001 Godrej Singapore Challenge: The Proteas’ innings was cut short due to the rain to 35 overs, and they scored 197 for 7 wickets, while Pakistan was bundled out at 121. South Africa won the championship final by 93 runs using the D/L method.
- 2002-2003 South Africa v Pakistan: In 2002–03, South Africa and Pakistan engaged in a five-match ODI series. Proteas won the series 4-1 after utterly dominating the Shaheens.
